The Reykjavík half marathon is in exactly 64 days, 2 hours and 26 minutes.
So far, this is what my love has done to prepare: Run about 10km fairly regularly for the past month.
So far, this is what I've done to prepare: Not a damn thing.
That's not completely true...I have done one gym Suédoise class, I did the 10 minute warm-up of Insanity boot camp exactly two times. Oh and one time, I ran 3km.
I have also been drinking excellent wines, eating cheeses I cannot pronounce and sampling various desserts from not one, but two, local bakeries.
A happy life and full bottom? Yes.
A good approach to half-marathon training? No.
Gotta step it up. So today, the training begins with a swim and a hike in Cinque Terre. In two days 40 km of hiking. Of course, a gelato here and there but limiting cheese and no more diving head first into the bread basket.
Though I suspect, the biggest exercise of the day will be to work out the metro and three train connections from Torino to Vernazza.
Whew!
